Stone Arch Bridge Engagement Session | Tony & Rachelle’s Minneapolis Engagement

Stone Arch Bridge Engagement Session | Tony & Rachelle’s Minneapolis Engagement

I still remember my first time meeting with Tony and Rachelle, earlier this spring. When you meet a couple with a such a memorable love story AND when their vision and goals for their wedding line up perfectly with your style of service as professional, it’s a hard moment to forget! As they described their plans to marry in an outdoor September ceremony at Rice Park, followed by a reception at Lowertown Event Center, I couldn’t help but get starry-eyed, already envisioning the countless beautiful possibilities for this St. Paul event! I’m getting a little ahead of myself, though–what first got me was their “how we met” story.

Tony and Rachelle actually went to school together (think: elementary school through freshman year of college!) but did not really get to know each other until reconnecting at their 10 year high school reunion! Tony shared that although it may sound cliche, he knew she was “the one” from that moment on. One of his favorite things about Rachelle is her extremely caring, supportive nature. He shared that she is “as beautiful of a person inside as she is on the outside.” Rachelle loves that Tony’s adorable laugh “fills up any room,” and admires his kindness and the effort he puts forth to be a part of her family and friends’ lives.

The day of their Stone Arch Bridge Engagement Session was one of the most spectacular and unpredictable weather days of spring {even by Minnesota standards!} As you’ll see, the beginning of our session was beautiful and mild, with the sparkling sunlight filtering through the trees. After exploring a bit down by the water, Tony & Rachelle changed into their second outfits and we started to stroll across the bridge. As they enjoyed some delicious wine we watched the sky darken and thick, heavy clouds began rolling in. We walked quickly to reach some shelter on the other side, and took a few minutes’ break while it started to rain! The sky changed yet again from a crazy concoction of colors and clouds, to peachy-pink, complete with a double rainbow. We took full advantage and had a blast, even though it continued to sprinkle a bit! Our last walk back across the bridge probably produced a few of my favorites of the session; wind always add a bit of romance to any photograph! We wrapped up just as the sun was going down. Thanks to these two troopers for enduring crazy weather, and loving every minute of their Stone Arch Bridge Engagement Session. I cannot wait to photograph their wedding in just a few short weeks!
