Minnetonka Senior Photos | Greta, Minnetonka Class of 2017
Happy Back-To-School-Week! This week I am sharing some favorite images from a senior session I did a few weeks back. Greta is a senior at Minnetonka High School and the daughter of a friend and coworker of mine! Her mom and I taught kindergarten together for two years in Minnetonka before I left for maternity leave! :)
I met with these lovely ladies a few weeks prior to our session, to talk about outfits, locations and props. It’s so important for me to get to know my clients a bit better before our session, so that they feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. After all, that is what helps create natural-looking, beautiful images. We also talked about outfit choices and potential locations, and decided on a natural, scenic spot in the west Metro!
Greta is as sweet as she is beautiful! It was such a pleasure spending time with her and her mom in breathtaking Orono, Minnesota. As you will see, Orono provided an eclectic mix of lush emerald forest, sparkling sunny lakeshore and color-rich gardens. Our session was laid back and fun. Greta selected some gorgeous outfits from Dry Goods, and the colors and textures really popped in the warm summer scenery! Congratulations to Greta, and the entire Minnetonka High School class of 2017! Go Skippers!
As you can see, Greta’s burgundy dress really popped against the green of the forest. I also loved that it was textured–texture helps add another dimension to the detail in your clothing, and always photographs well (especially if you want to wear white or black!). Her next outfit was a bit more simple but equally stunning! For senior sessions (or any session, really) it’s important to choose clothing you feel comfortable in. I also advise clients to wear their desired outfits at least once before the session to make sure they are comfortable moving around in them. It’s a great idea to dress things up a little bit, but not to the extent that you don’t feel like “yourself!” Greta did an amazing job–her photos reflect confidence and comfort, and her outfit choices seem very “her”!The blue top really brought out the blue in Greta’s eyes! Her last outfit choice was incredible too. A sleeveless boho top with a great pattern accompanied skinny jeans and scrappy sandals. The three outfits together provided a great variety. As the sun was setting we shot a few last images with her final outfit, putting a wrap on a really fun session!
Congratulations again to Greta! Leave her a “Like” and sweet comment, below! And if you know any high school seniors, send them my way! :)
